Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 July 2026
1. The service
LifeMuseo lets you record, organise and share life stories, memories, photographs, recordings and family information. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 16 to create an account. You may sign in with a password or with a third-party provider such as Google or Microsoft — if you use one of those, your use is also subject to that provider's own terms.
3. Your content
You own everything you upload. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store your content and display it to you and to the people you choose — nothing more. We claim no other rights over your memories, photographs or recordings.
You are responsible for the content you add, including content about other people. Do not upload anything unlawful, or content you don't have the right to share.
4. Subscriptions and payments
LifeMuseo offers a free plan and a paid "Plus" plan with additional features, billed on a recurring basis, plus optional one-time add-on purchases (such as an extra profile slot). Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
Plus subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings, which stops future renewals — you'll keep Plus access until the end of the period you've already paid for. One-time purchases are non-recurring and non-refundable once fulfilled, except where required by law.
If a renewal payment fails, we'll email you and give you a reasonable opportunity to update your payment details before your account reverts to the free plan.
5. Contributors and collaboration
You may invite other people to contribute content to a profile you manage, and choose whether their contributions are reviewed by you before publishing. You remain responsible for content on profiles you manage, including anything added by a contributor, and you can remove a contributor's access at any time.
6. Time capsules
You may seal a message or piece of content for delivery to a chosen recipient on a future date. Once created, a capsule will be delivered as scheduled; you may delete an unopened capsule before its delivery date to cancel delivery.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful content, harassment, impersonation, attempts to access other people's private data, automated abuse of public pages, or interference with the Service's operation. We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms.
8. Profiles for other people
The Service lets you create and manage profiles for family members, including people who have passed away. You confirm you have an appropriate basis to do so, and you agree to respect requests from living individuals about content concerning them.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, but the Service is provided "as is" — we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update features over time. We encourage you to keep personal copies of irreplaceable photographs and recordings.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your data. We may terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Contact & governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions: hello@lifemuseo.com, or via our contact page.
